January 26, 2005 To Whom It May Concern
In January of 2003, Hancock Fabrics started a 3 year project to roll out a new POS system to our 430+ stores. I had chosen Ave Professional Services for the installation part of our POS rollout. I had obtained bids from 9 companies for services, including APS. I was concerned, at first, of the idea of Two Guys and a Bus (which I call their service), but as I worked with the various companies, it became clear who would take the best care of Hancock Fabrics. I determined that they would be the best choice and have never thought otherwise.
Dan Cramer performed the installation in almost 400 stores – a total of 400 servers, and 900 registers. Every Hancock Fabrics employee was very impressed with his “can do” attitude. Nothing was ever too much to ask of him, and our employees and customers were treated with respect. There were many installation challenges, but Dan was able to determine the best way to work around each one. If I wanted to change the way we installed, Dan would adapt to it without a complaint – many times he even had a better way to perform it.
This was to be a 3 year rollout, but things went so well the first year, that a decision was made to complete the rest of the 435 stores the second year – an amazing feat, given that we originally planned a longer term.
Dan has been on top of things at all times. We were able to stay on schedule, or ahead of schedule for every store. When he left a store, Dan would always leave his phone number and allow the store to call him if they had any problems, even explaining how to run the registers.
Many thanks to Dan Cramer!
